Wasabi Storage Builder for NAS is a turnkey software solution that allows VARs and systems integrators to create Network Attached Storage appliances quickly and easily. It significantly reduces the cost of producing NAS devices by delivering all necessary software components in a simple, bootable Disk on Module (DOM) package.

  • Data Security and Reliability:

    Storage Builder for NAS is based on Wasabi Certified® BSD, a highly secure and compact operating system. The browser-based UI is password protected to ensure authorized access and supports data access controls at the user and volume level. The Advanced Journaling File System protects data and ensures rapid restart in the case of an unexpected system restart. Integrated RAID support ensures data integrity and uninterrupted availability in the case of drive failure. Snapshot and backup tools provide added data security and support comprehensive Information Lifecycle Management (ILM) strategies.

  • Performance:

    Storage Builder for NAS supports SCSI and Fibre Channel drives for those applications that require the highest possible performance. SATA and SATA II drives are also supported to maximize the price / performance ratio.

  • Ease of Use:

    Storage Builder for NAS features a powerful UI that includes configuration wizards for fast set up as well as expert mode for more control. The UI features localization for European and Asian languages.

  • Compatibility:

    Storage Builder for NAS serves data to both CIFS and NFS clients, ensuring compatibility with all major operating systems including Windows™, Linux, Solaris, HP-UX and AIX. Our CIFS implementation provides seamless integration with Windows Active Directory Services. The snapshot tool is compatible with Shadow Copies of Shared Folders for Windows clients.

  • Manageability:

    Environmental monitoring, logging and email event notification help administrators keep track of system performance and potential issues. User and group quotas can be set to manage disk capacity allocation. RAID configuration is integrated into the Storage Builder UI, resulting in a simpler setup process.
